Sample Autobiographies: The following are two examples of an instructor autobiography.

One

 I have been a resident of Columbus, OH for the past 3 decades. Before that I lived in Cleveland and Youngstown, OH as well as Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA. I attended Ohio State and majored in education. I have been involved in some form of education for the past 20+ years. I am married and have two daughters, both whom have graduated from OSU. My wife is the only non-Buckeye in the family, but she makes up for it by working there. I also have a dog of 15 years, named Ralph. Ralph is deaf, arthritic, and partially blind. But he still has a nose that works over time. If food is around, so is he.

In my spare time, I like gardening, reading and sports. I enjoy reading history and fiction. Having been born in northern Ohio, I am cursed by being a Browns and Indians fan. Some day…

Greetings, E 4 ME class!

I was born and raised in Minnesota, so if you hate snow or cold, I'm not the best person to whom you should complain. =)

Migrating southeast, I attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, where I got a Bachelor's Degree in English. Then I continued migrating to Muncie, Indiana, where I completed my Master's Degree in English at Ball State University (BSU). After getting my degree, I stayed in Muncie for three more years, teaching English Literature and Composition at BSU and Ivy Tech State College in Muncie and Anderson, Indiana. Finally, in 1999, I migrated to Columbus, where I have been ever since.

Currently, I am a Ph.D. student in the Higher Education Administration program at The Ohio State University (OSU), and I am in the process of writing my dissertation proposal regarding higher education institutional online undergraduate retention strategies. I also work as an Assistant Coordinator of Residence Education, working with living-learning programs at OSU, and I work part-time at the Ohio Learning Network.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my 9-month old son. I am a Green Bay Packers and OSU Buckeyes fan, and I also like to collect armadillos, watch movies, listen to music, and read. Right now I am reading Broken Music, which is Sting's autobiography.

My wife, son, and I live in Columbus with our two dogs, Abbie, 12, who is a Border Collie-Australian shepherd mix, and Logan, 3, who is a Border Collie. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!
