OLN is a consortium of Ohio higher education institutions cooperating to promote e-learning.
OhioLearns! is the catalog of distance learning courses, certificates, and degrees offered by Ohio higher education institutions and maintained by OLN.
OLN strives to help students find the best educational fit for them.
E 4 ME is to be taken after students have acquired basic computer skills, but before enrolling in an institution’s orientation course.
Informational:
The E 4 ME Instructor Wiki is: http://wiki.e4meohio.org/index.php?title=Main_PageThe E 4 ME Program Coordinator, Gail Peters, is available to answer your inquiries. You may contact her at gpeters@oln.org.
OLN has Regional Coordinators to help answer students’ questions and to serve as back-up to all instructors of the course.
The course is offered through the collaborative learning environment (CLE) named WebCT Vista. Future versions of the course will use additional CLEs.
Once students register, they will be assigned to a course section. When requested, every effort will be made to match designated student groups with specific instructors teaching specific course sections.
Course sections last approximately four weeks, beginning on the first Monday of the month and ending on the last day of the month.
Instructors will personally grade all text-submitted responses. Multiple choice and True/False questions are graded automatically.

Relational:
OLN philosophy is to facilitate students’ exploration of e-learning options, but to refer students to those contacts providing services at the appropriate institution once the student has identified that institution.
Instructors can build a stronger relationship with their students, if a brief response is sent directly after each assignment or quiz. Even quizzes that are automatically graded have a space where instructors can respond with short comments like “Good,” “Well Done,” or “You are making good progress.”
