Helping students contact an institutionThis is a featured page

All degree and certificates and most courses in OhioLearns! should have an institutional contact person your student should be able to contact. If you have trouble in establishing a contact, please call or e-mail George Steele at 614 995-3240 or gsteele@oln.org. Listed below are some general suggestions for helping students make direct connection with an institution contact.

  1. Send an e-mail to the institutional contact introducing the student and cc: the student.
  2. Have the student initiate the contact with the institutional contact and cc: you.
  3. Place a conference call to the institutional contact with the student attending. You should leave the conference call, once introductions are completed.
  4. Set up a 10 minute telephone call meeting with the student within 48 hours after they plan to contact the institution.
  5. Send a student an e-mail message within 48 hours after they plan to contact the institution to ask him/her how the meeting went.
