Ohio Learning Network Memorandum of Understanding for E-Guides The Ohio Learning Network (OLN), a consortium of Ohio's two- and four-year public and independent colleges and universities establishes a trust relationship with the undersigned to perform the duties of an E-Guide. E-Guides work directly with those Ohioans who complete the E 4 ME course and seek additional assistance with their educational goals. Individuals participating as E-Guides commit to:
expand access to higher education opportunities for all learners by providing, to the best of their ability, unbiased information about educational programs offered by OLN member institutions;
work with a learner as a referral agent to institutions in Ohio;
comply with notification procedures established by OLN for reporting steps taken with an advisee;
refer that student to the appropriate campus-based individual, when the learner has decided upon a "college home;”
embrace the best principles and practices of adult academic advising when working with the E-Guide program;
work to reduce inter-institutional barriers and encourage an expanded number of residents to pursue higher education;
participate in online and face-to-face meetings, workshops and discussions to further the goals of the E-Guide program;
work with a reasonable number of advisees per year in the E-Guide program. All institutions supporting E-Guides commit to working collaboratively to utilize resources of the state through effective use of technology as evidenced in all OLN projects and programs.
