  • Use a specific title in the subject line.
  • Include a line or two of the post you are responding to.
  • Write easy to read posts by avoiding lengthy blocks of text.
  • Categorize or start new threads when the discussion threads become too long.
  • Allow students adequate time to read and respond to discussion topics.
  • Do not overload students with too much information at one time.

  • Provide students MANY opportunities to practice discussion.

Tips on Responding to Quizzes and Surveys
  • Provide tips to help students as they work through course exercises by reminding them to:
    1. “save” their answers inside each quiz before exiting the quiz
    2. click the “submit” button to send each quiz to the instructor for review and/or grading
