Issues related to transfer of courses from one instituion to another are best handled at the institution where the learner intends to go. Using the course transition pages found in OhioLearns! and helping students identify key program or course contacts is the most important way an E-Guide can help a learner start this process. This is discussed in the section Referring Students to Campuses in this E-Guide Wiki.
The Course Applicability System(http://miami.transfer.org/cas/index.jsp) (CAS) is discussed in E 4 ME. Students might be interested in using this tool for help with transfer related issues. CAS provides Course Equivalency Guides, Academic Programs, Courses Offerings, Transfer Course Evaluations, and Degree Audit Reporting in a web environment. Students, faculty, and the interested public can easily retrieve these from the Internet for participating Ohio CAS institutions. Students contemplating a transfer may submit their course work to any institution within the CAS network for evaluation against that institution's academic programs. CAS provides information on courses, course equivalencies, and program requirements at a CAS institution to anyone who accesses a CAS Web site. For students who become a "CAS Member," CAS provides information on how their specific course work will transfer and apply toward a degree at a CAS institution. CAS provides a variety of services at its site. These free services include:
  1. establish a new CAS account
  2. log-in to an existing CAS account
  3. log-in as a guest
  4. review CAS sites outside of Ohio
  5. review the CAS manual for using the site as a student, adviser, or administrator
