Getting Students to Log On

Gail mentioned that another instructor in November mentioned that getting students to log on must be the luck of the draw and I tend to agree. I have had months where nearly everyone logged into the course, and other months that hardly anyone logged in. November was one of the latter. Despite an external e-mail reminder each week, reminding them of the benefits of receiving their certificate, etc. I only managed to encourage an additional 2 students to log in. I only had 3 complete, and only 2 others that completed any significant amount of the material. Quite a few never logged in, and another large number logged in, but completed no assignments.

My recommendation is - don't get discouraged. The next class will probably be better. :-) Do you find this valuable?
